AAP leader shot dead outside gurdwara in Punjab’s Jalandhar
Jalandhar: Aam Aadmi Party leader Lucky Oberoi was shot dead by assailants in Punjab’s Jalandhar.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the AAP leader was shot dead on Friday morning outside a gurdwara in the posh Model Town locality of Jalandhar city.
He received four gunshots when assailants riding on a two-wheeler opened fire at him. He was taken to a private hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
AAP Jalandhar Cantt halqa in charge Rajwinder Thiara said that it was Oberoi’s daily routine to visit the gurdwara and that the assailants appeared to be aware of his movements.
The deceased leader was a financier by profession. His wife, Simarjot Kaur, had unsuccessfully contested the councillor’s elections from the area on an AAP ticket in December 2024
