IIOJK CM Omar Abdullah demands release of protesters

Jammu: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has called for the release of people arrested in the Kashmir valley during protests against the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei in the US-Israel strikes on Tehran.

According to Kashmir Media Service, responding to media queries in Jammu, Omar Abdullah said that the demands of civil society, including a compassionate approach and review of cases, have been conveyed to the authorities concerned.

Omar emphasized that the people of Iran should decide their own regime, not external forces. He condemned the use of force to effect regime change, citing international law violations.

Political experts said that CM Omar Abdullah’s statement exposes the true face of democracy, as a sitting chief minister is forced to demand the release of protesters, indicating that actual power rests with New Delhi-installed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, while the Omar Abdullah government is just a showpiece.
