Daily wagers hold protest in Kathua

Jammu: Daily wagers from various engineering and non-engineering departments held a massive protest in Kathua district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, demanding regularization and implementation of the Minimum Wages Act.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the protest under the banner of All Daily Wagers of J&K Sangrash Samiti saw participation from Midday Meal cooks, CPW workers, land donors, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, SPOs, PHE employees, Home Guards, and others.

Protesters said they have worked for years on meager wages insufficient for basic needs.

The workers warned of intensifying their agitation if demands are not met, urging the government to ensure fair wages and justice.
