Modi wants to keep India’s youth illiterate, unemployed: Congress

Islamabad: India’s main opposition party, the Indian National Congress, has strongly criticized the Modi government over the alleged shortcomings in the education system and asked whether Narendra Modi wants to keep the country’s youth illiterate, ignorant and unemployed?

According to Kashmir Media Service, Congress’s media publicity department head Pawan Khera in a statement demanded the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NUST Entry Test (NET) paper leak.

He said during the last two years, lakhs of youth have fallen victim to rigging in NET, CUET, JEE Mains and other exams. This problem is no longer limited to competitive exams, but has spread to school education.

He termed the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system as flawed and said that earlier the answer sheets of students were sent to the CBSE examiner, where they were checked. However, this system was changed. Now the answer sheets are scanned and uploaded on the portal.

The Congress leader said educationists and other experts have pointed out flaws in the OSM system. Why did the Modi government ignore it? Why did the Narendra Modi government change the rules to benefit a company? What is the connection between COEMPT and BJP that it was given preference over TCS? Why is the Modi government pushing the country’s education system backward?
