Indian administration seizes properties of two more Kashmiris in IIOJK

Srinagar: Continuing the nefarious cycle of confiscation and demolition of properties of Kashmiris in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the administration, under the New Delhi-imposed Lieutenant Governor, today seized properties worth crores of rupees of two individuals in Srinagar.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the police seized a two-storey residential house and land of Raheel Manzoor Malla in Hazratbal area of Srinagar on the orders of the Lieutenant Governor. The value of the seized property is said to be Rs 13 million.

In another operation, the police seized a residential house worth about Rs 22 million of a citizen named Adil Rashid in Soura area of Srinagar.

The police seized these properties under the guise of a so-called anti-drug campaign.

It is worth noting that since the abrogation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s special status in August 2019, the BJP-led Indian government has intensified its campaign of seizing homes, land, and other properties of Kashmiris under various pretexts.

Observers say such actions are aimed at economically weakening the local population and gradually altering the territory’s demographic composition through transfer of these assets to non-local Hindus.
