IIOJK administration attaches ancestral land of another Kashmiri in Pulwama

Srinagar: In a continuing display of colonial-style repression in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the administration, under New Delhi-appointed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, has attached ancestral land of another Kashmiri in Tral area of Pulwama district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, police, acting directly on the orders of LG Sinha, confiscated four marlas of land belonging to Mubashir Ahmad in the Syedabad Pastuna area.
Occupation authorities claimed the action was taken due to Ahmad’s alleged involvement in “pro-freedom activities”, a pretext frequently used to illegally appropriate Kashmiris’ assets. A notice was erected on the of land declaring: “No one is permitted to purchase the property. The owner is prohibited from selling, leasing, transferring or creating any third-party interest in the property”.
Since the abrogation of IIOJK’s special status in August 2019, the Modi regime has systematically intensified this policy, seizing hundreds of homes, lands, and businesses belonging to Kashmiris. These measures not only aim to economically marginalize the Kashmiris but also to alter the demographic composition of the territory by transferring confiscated properties to non-local Hindus.
