Congress launches India-wide campaign against paper leaks, unemployment

New Delhi: The Congress party has announced a country-wide campaign from June 17 to highlight paper leaks, examination irregularities, unemployment and other issues affecting students and youth across India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal said the campaign, being launched under the guidance of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, aims to amplify the concerns of students and young people.

The campaign will begin in Kota, Rajasthan, on June 17, followed by major student conventions in Prayagraj (Allahabad) on July 10, Patna on July 11, and New Delhi on July 14. Students, teachers, youth organizations, and those affected by examination irregularities will be invited to participate.

Congress said the future of millions of young people is being jeopardized by recurring paper leaks, rising examination costs, and the lack of a transparent recruitment and education system.

The party said the campaign will mobilize the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), Youth Congress and party units at the state and district levels. Outreach programmes will be conducted at educational institutions, coaching centres and youth hubs, alongside social media campaigns and direct interaction with students.

Congress said the initiative seeks to unite young people beyond political affiliations and provide them a platform to share their experiences and demand accountability for repeated examination scandals and systemic failure.

The campaign will also focus on key demands, including reforms in the NEET examination system, reduction in examination fees, strict action against those involved in paper leaks and greater institutional accountability.

Venugopal said Congress considers these issues matters of national importance and would seek a comprehensive debate in Parliament on the challenges facing the country’s youth. He added the party would support legislative measures to safeguard their rights, interests and future.
