CJP protest in Delhi enters 21st day, announces parliament march on July 20

New Delhi: The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has announced a peaceful march to the Indian parliament on July 20, the opening day of the Monsoon Session, as its sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi entered its 21st consecutive day today.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the youth-led organization has been demanding the resignation of Indian Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over irregularities and corruption in competitive examinations.

In a statement, the CJP said the march would begin at Jantar Mantar and proceed to parliament. It said noted environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk from the Ladakh region of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), who has been on a hunger strike at the CJP protest site since June 28, would also participate in the march.

The party appealed to students, parents and citizens across India to join the march in solidarity with students affected by examination scandals, saying several young people had taken their own lives after corruption in competitive examinations came to light.

In a post on X, Sonam Wangchuk also urged the public to participate in the march, saying parliament was the appropriate forum to raise the issue and seek accountability.

Meanwhile, a video of CJP founder Abhijit Dipke arguing with Delhi Police personnel went viral on social media after police refused to allow protesters to bring tarpaulins to the demonstration site despite heavy rainfall, drawing criticism from participants.
