Pakistan makes India look ridiculous in Security Council
United Nations: Saima Saleem, Counselor of the Pakistani Mission to the United Nations, has made India look ridiculous in the Security Council.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Saima Saleem in her statement said it is ridiculous for India to teach peace, which itself is guilty of violating international law and Security Council resolutions, aggression against neighbours and state-sponsored terrorism in the region.
She said there is a clear difference between the conditions in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Saima Saleem said, on one side, there is political freedom and, on the other, there is a series of repression, arrests and human rights violations. She said the exercise of rights and the deprivation of rights cannot be the same thing.
She said the inalienable right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people cannot be denied, adding Kashmir is neither an integral part of India nor an internal matter and India’s denial cannot change the international status of the dispute.
Counselor Saima Saleem said India itself brought the Kashmir dispute to the Security Council and today is deviating from the resolutions. Oppression and human rights violations continue in occupied Kashmir, she lamented.
She further said the Indian decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty is a violation of international law, adding the water of the Indus River is a source of life, not a weapon of war.
Saima Saleem also said terrorist networks linked to India have spread to the global level and Hindutva ideologies in India have made Islamophobia a state policy.
