India intensifies state terrorism in IIOJK: APHC-AJK

Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has said that the BJP-led Indian government has intensified its campaign of state terrorism in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), escalating house raids, search operations and arbitrary arrests of youth in an attempt to terrorize the Kashmiri people.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC-AJK Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, in a statement issued in Islamabad, said that Indian army personnel, paramilitary forces and police have carried out raids and search operations at the homes of Hurriyat activists and ordinary civilians in Srinagar, Islamabad, Budgam, Baramulla, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian and Sopore, detaining thousands of youth without justification.

He said the Indian forces have also intensified the demolition of residential houses, adding that two houses in Islamabad district were blown up using explosives. He termed these actions are part of New Delhi’s continued attempts to crush the Kashmiris’ just struggle for their UN-recognized right to self-determination through coercion and the use of force.

Ghulam Mohammad Safi said despite India’s unabated repression and human rights violations, the resolve of the Kashmiri people remains unshaken and they are determined to carry the mission of the martyrs to its logical conclusion.

He urged the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), international human rights organizations and the entire international community to take immediate notice of India’s ongoing state terrorism and human rights violations in IIOJK. He called on them to play their role in ensuring the implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions and enabling the Kashmiri people to exercise their internationally recognized right to self-determination.
