Bajrang Dal objects to chicken biryani sale in UP’s Saharanpur
Saharanpur : Members of Bajrang Dal have objected to the sale of chicken biryani at a restaurant in Deoband, Saharanpur district, citing restrictions on non-vegetarian food.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a video circulating on August 10 showed Bajrang Dal members Ajay Prajapati and Rudra Mishra at Hyderabad Chicken Point in Deoband, along with police personnel inspecting the premises.
The members alleged the restaurant was openly selling chicken despite administrative directions restricting the sale of meat, chicken and fish along Kanwar routes during the pilgrimage period.
Officials have warned that violations could invite action under applicable rules. In a separate incident from Bareilly district, authorities detained two shopkeepers, Salman and Raees, for allegedly selling chicken biryani near the old Roadways bus stand in Bahedi.
Police later removed the shop’s tin shed. Bahedi Circle Officer Arun Kumar Singh said traders had already been informed about the restrictions on non-vegetarian food sales along major pilgrimage routes during Sawan.
