DFP greets Pakistan on Independence Day, reaffirms solidarity with Kashmir cause

Islamabad : Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has conveyed heartfelt congratulations to the Government and people of Pakistan on the eve of Pakistan’s Independence Day, on behalf of the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the pro-freedom leadership, and party.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in his message, DFP spokesman Advocate Arshad Iqbal said Pakistan’s Independence Day reminds the Muslims of the subcontinent of the historic struggle and sacrifices that culminated in the creation of an independent state. He said the people of Jammu and Kashmir deeply value their historic, religious, cultural and emotional bonds with the people of Pakistan.
DFP said the people of Jammu and Kashmir have rendered immense sacrifices for the realization of their right to self-determination and will continue their struggle until they are able to decide their political future freely, fairly and democratically.
The DFP spokesman said Pakistan has consistently supported the right of the people of Jammu and Kashmir to self-determination and has emphasized that the Kashmir dispute be resolved in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions. He expressed the hope that Pakistan would continue to extend its political, diplomatic and moral support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Advocate Arshad Iqbal urged the Government of Pakistan and its political leadership to intensify diplomatic efforts to highlight the Kashmir dispute at the international level and to continue raising their voice against human rights violations, political restrictions and the unlawful detention of pro-freedom leadership in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He prayed for peace, prosperity, stability and progress for the Government, armed forces and people of Pakistan, saying that the DFP considers Pakistan’s security, sovereignty and prosperity important for peace and stability in the region.
In conclusion, Advocate Arshad Iqbal said that on Pakistan’s Independence Day, the people of Jammu and Kashmir stand in solidarity with their Pakistani brothers and sisters and reaffirm their commitment to continuing the peaceful, political and democratic struggle for the right to self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
