Amarnath pilgrim dies of cardiac arrest in Poonch; Man’s body found in Srinagar

Two-storey residential house gutted in Doda fire

Jammu: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), an Amarnath pilgrim from India’s Bihar state died of a cardiac arrest in Poonch district.

According to Kashmir Media Service, 68-year-old Dinesh Prasad developed breathing difficulties during the night and was rushed to District Hospital Poonch, where he died of a cardiac arrest. His body was handed over to his companions for last rites.

Meanwhile, the body of a 42-year-old man was recovered from the Dagwan forest area on the outskirts of Srinagar. The deceased was identified as Muhammad Latif, a resident of Thagla in Rajouri district. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

In another incident, a two-storey residential house was gutted in a fire in Shailpora area of Gundna in Doda district. The house belonged to Ghulam Nabi Lone. Locals said fire tenders could not reach the site because of the difficult terrain. No loss of life or injury was reported in the incident.
