Indian Army converting Kupwara brigade HQ into corps HQ, villages vacated

BJP govt preparing for another false-flag operation

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army is converting a brigade headquarters in Kupwara district into a corps headquarters and turning the area into a full-fledged military cantonment. For the purpose, several villages along the main roads in the Lolab and Keran areas have been vacated.

According to a Kashmir Media Service report, the Kupwara Deputy Commissioner has issued orders to vacate settlements around Kandi Kegam to facilitate the establishment of the corps headquarters. The report said heavy troops deployment has made life increasingly difficult for the local population, while Army brigade depots are being established in Kandi-Kegam and Panzgam areas, about 15 kilometres from Kupwara town.

Residents and villagers in surrounding villages have been ordered to vacate their homes, with the Indian Army warning of serious consequences for those who resist or raising objections.

India has already deployed more than one million troops in Jammu and Kashmir to maintain its illegal occupation, the report said, adding that the establishment of additional military headquarters and increased troop presence reflect its sinister designs.

Meanwhile, the deployment of Indian troops along the Line of Control in the Kupwara sector is also being significantly increased, with heavy military equipment being moved into the area. The developments, the report said, indicate the BJP-led Indian government’s growing war hysteria and raise concerns over possible preparations for another false-flag operation.

The report said that the Pakistan-focused, Kashmir-hostile BJP government was facing mounting domestic challenges, including student protests, unemployment, inflation and other issues, which had contributed to a decline in its political standing. It said New Delhi appeared to be seeking ways to divert public attention from these problems and shore up its declining position.

The report warned that New Delhi could resort to adventurism or another false-flag operation to shift attention from domestic issues, adding that any such move could further heighten regional tensions.

It said that if the Indian Army, which suffered a humiliating defeat in the May 2025 conflict, made another miscalculation, Pakistan and its armed forces were fully prepared and vigilant to defend the country and respond forcefully to any aggression.

Pakistan, it said, remained committed to peace and stability in the region but would never compromise on its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
