Sheikh Abdul Mateen’s brother passes away in IIOJK

APHC-AJK leaders express condolences

Islamabad: Sheikh Abdul Rauf, the elder brother of Sheikh Abdul Mateen, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter leader and former General Secretary, passed away today in Srinagar, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Sheikh Abdul Rauf breathed his last in the Batamaloo area of the city following a brief illness.

The deceased was a long-standing activist of the freedom movement and remained at the forefront of the struggle throughout his life. He faced Indian oppression with steadfastness and courage, remaining committed to the just cause until his last breath.

Meanwhile, APHC-AJK Chapter Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, along with senior leaders Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Hassan-Al Bana and others, expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Sheikh Abdul Mateen’s brother.

They prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with patience.

Sheikh Abdul Mateen also serves as the special representative in Azad Kashmir and Pakistan for APHC Chairman Masarrat Alam Butt, who remains illegally detained in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail.
