Hurriyat leaders brief Kashmir Committee Chairman on IIOJK situation
Islamabad: A high-level delegation of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter met with Chairman of the Parliamentary Kashmir Committee, Rana Qasim Noon, at the Parliament House in Islamabad and briefed him on the deteriorating situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, the delegation, led by senior leaders Muhammad Farooq Rehmani and Mehmood Ahmad Saghar, highlighted the severe Indian state repression, ongoing human rights violations, and challenges faced by the Kashmiri freedom movement. Chairman Noon lauded the resilience and sacrifices of Kashmiri leaders and reiterated that lasting peace in South Asia is impossible without a just resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
He strongly condemned India’s demographic engineering in the occupied valley, suppression of civil liberties, and arbitrary arrests. He affirmed the Kashmir Committee’s commitment to raising the issue both nationally and globally and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
Referring to a powerful statement by Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Noon said, “Even if we have to fight ten wars for Kashmir’s freedom, we will not back down.”
The Hurriyat leaders expressed grave concern over the deteriorating health of senior leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah, imprisoned in Delhi’s Tihar Jail and suffering from cancer, without access to medical treatment or family visitation. They urged the UN, OIC, and global rights bodies to intervene for his release and medical care.
The delegation thanked the Pakistani government and people for their consistent political, diplomatic, and moral support, calling Pakistan the only country that represents Kashmiris on every international platform.
The delegation included Sheikh Yaqub, Abdul Hameed Lone, Syed Ijaz Rehmani, Zahid Safi, Muhammad Shafi Dar and Mushtaq Ahmad Butt.
