Assam Regiment trooper beaten to death in Mizoram
Aizawl: A 29-year-old trooper of the Assam Regiment was beaten to death by a group of people in Mizoram.
The incident took place during a clash at Bualpui Coffee Board. Zakaria, a soldier of the Assam Regiment, was returning home on leave when he was picked up at Lengpui Airport by a friend who was driving a truck.
On their way back, an altercation reportedly took place involving several individuals who were returning from a picnic near a coffee plantation in the Bualpui area, on the Kawnpui side.
During the incident, Zakaria sustained serious injuries and later died. Zakaria had been serving in the Assam Regiment after joining the force in 2017.
