Anti-India demos, rallies mark Indian Republic Day as Black Day in AJK
Muzaffarabad: Protest demonstrations and rallies were held in Muzaffarabad and other cities of Azad Jammu and Kashmir to mark India’s Republic Day, today (January 26), as a Black Day.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a massive protest demonstration was organized by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir in Muzaffarabad. It was led by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Chairman Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, PPP leader Shaukat Javed Mir, Hurriyat leaders Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Usman Ali Hashim, Shoaib Ahmad Shah, Muhajiran leaders Iqbal Yasin Awan, Muhammad Farooq Sheikh, Raja Sajeed Khan, Ishaq Shaheen, Chaudhry Shahbaz Ahmed, Muhammad Fayaz Khan, Imtiaz Aziz and others.
The protesters on the occasion chanted slogans like “Indian democracy Hai Hai” and “fake democracy Hai Hai “. The participants were carrying black flags, banners and placards with slogans against India written on them.
Addressing the demonstrators, Pasban-e-Hurriyat Chairman Uzair Ahmad Ghazali and other speakers said India is committing the worst terrorism in occupied Jammu and Kashmir under the guise of fake democracy. They said India is violating all political, religious, social and human rights of Kashmiri Muslims. The speakers said India is a blot in the name of democracy which has illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. With the implementation of the worst black laws, Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Public Safety Act (PSA), the lives of the Kashmiri people have been made miserable, they lamented.
The student wing of Tehreek-e-Shabab-ul-Muslimeen organized an anti-India protest demonstration in Muzaffarabad to mark Indian Republic Day as a Black Day. The rally was led by Vice Chairman of the student wing of Tehreek-e-Shabab-ul-Muslimeen Munir Ahmad Konshi and a large number of youth participated in it, chanting anti-India slogans.
Addressing the participants, the speakers said India has usurped all fundamental rights of the people of occupied Kashmir. They said New Delhi has no justification to celebrate its Republic Day in a territory it has occupied illegally.
After the protest demonstration, a huge rally was taken out from Afzal Guru Chowk to Burhan Wani Chowk in which high-pitched slogans against India and in favor of Kashmir’s freedom from Indian illegal occupation were raised.
Another protest demonstration was organized under the auspices of Jammu and Kashmir Young Men’s League at Manak Paiyan refugee camp, Muzaffarabad. The protesters carrying black flags, banners and placards chanted high-pitched anti-India slogans.
The Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panjal Freedom Movement also organized a rally in Kotli city of AJK. A large number of refugees from occupied Jammu and Kashmir and local people participated in the rally, which was led by Vice Chairman of the organization Qazi Imran, senior leader Haji Arif, Sardar Aftab Arif, Khawaja Ayaz and others.
Addressing on the occasion, the speakers said India is not a democratic but a terrorist country which has been occupying Jammu and Kashmir for the last over 76 years. They appealed to the UN to take notice of the ongoing Indian state terrorism in the occupied territory and put pressure on India to resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
