Int’l community urged to help Kashmiris in achieving right to self-determination
Mirpur: Speakers at an event in Mirpur have appealed to the international community to help the Kashmiris in achieving their right to self-determination.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the event was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Self-Determination Movement International (JKSDMI) to mark India’s Republic Day, today, as a Black Day. It was presided over by JKSDMI founder Chairman Raja Najabat Hussain (Sitara-i-Pakistan) while Advisor to British Deputy Prime Minister Mehboob Ahmed was the special guest.
The speakers deplored that India has been denying the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination for the last over seven decades. They said India’s Republic Day is a black day for the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir as it brings more miseries to them. They said the Indian brutalities cannot intimidate the Kashmiris into submission and they will continue their freedom struggle till complete success.
Raja Najabat Hussain in his remarks said the unparalleled sacrifices rendered by the Kashmiri people for the Kashmir cause in the last over seven decades will not go in vain and they will see the dawn of freedom soon. He said the Kashmiri diaspora was playing an active role in highlighting the Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir.
The event was attended among others by Chairman District Council Raja Naveed Akhtar Goga, Smile Red Charity UK Head Chaudhry Shehbaz Sarwar, Chaudhry Munir Hussain Advocate, Salar Mumtaz Chishti, Chaudhry Jameel Tabsem, AJK Former Information Director Chaudhry Muhammad Rasheed, Director Mian Muhammad Bakhsh, Professor Abdul Razzaq Chaudhry, Chaudhry Javed Qadir, Raja Fazlur Rahman, Professor Hafiza Bari, JKSDMI Secretary General Muhammad Azam, Farooq Jaral, Haji Asif Hussain, Raja Munir Hussain, Zafar Iqbal Khatana, Sheikh Saeed Ahmed and Raja Sajid attended it. The participants also paid rich tributes to the Kashmiri martyrs.
