Woman IT professional shot dead in Pune
Pune: A 26-year-old woman IT professional was shot dead by a male friend in the state of Maharashtra, India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred at a lodge in the Hinjawadi area of Pimpri Chinchwad in the Pune district of the state.
The motive behind the killing is not yet known. Preliminary information suggests that both the accused and the victim, who were from Uttar Pradesh, were in a relationship. The deceased worked in an IT firm in Hinjawadi, while the accused lived in Uttar Pradesh.
A senior police official stated that the accused, identified as Rishab Nigam, has been detained in Mumbai. The official explained, “The accused had come from Uttar Pradesh and was staying in a lodge in Hinjawadi, where he called the deceased. The motive is yet to be clear.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC at Hinjawadi police station, and further investigation is ongoing on.
