Hurriyat leaders condemn India for treating IIOJK as military colony
Srinagar: Hurriyat leaders have lashed out at India for treating occupied Jammu and Kashmir as its military and Hindutva colony.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the leaders, including Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Saleem Zargar, Advocate Arshad Iqbal, Muhammad Haseeb Wani, and Maulana Musiab Nadvi, voiced their concerns over the appalling situation in the aftermath of the abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status. The leaders lamented the deprivation of rights and resources inflicted upon the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
They highlighted the dire consequences of India’s policies, citing the sale of land to outsiders, the loss of local jobs, and economic deterioration. The leaders criticized New Delhi’s approach, stating that it only exacerbates the already fragile situation on the ground.
Urging for a peaceful and just resolution to the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions, the leaders stressed the importance of granting the right to self-determination to the Kashmiri people as an ultimate remedy to their worries.
The leaders also paid heartfelt homage to the memory of Ghulam Muhammad Bulla, a revered figure in the Kashmiri freedom movement. Bulla, who was arrested and martyred in 1975 for his role in protesting against the Indira-Abdullah Accord, symbolizes the unwavering spirit of the Kashmiri people in their struggle for freedom from Indian occupation.
