Muslim youths assaulted for refusing to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in Maharashtra
Mumbai: The Hindutva groups ruthlessly beat up and forced two Muslims including a student to chant the Hindu slogan ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in Maharashtra state in India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in one such incident, the Hindu extremists led by one Vishal Nagre, forced a Muslim youth to chant the Hindu slogan ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and when the young man refused he was beaten black and blue.
The incident happened in Prabhani city of the state when the Muslim 19-year old Sheikh Irfan Pathan, second-year polytechnic student of Parbhani’s Shivaji College, was with his friends in the city’s Raj Gopal Acharya Garden. The Hindutva group approached him and forced him to chant the Hindu slogan. Upon Pathan’s refusal, the Hindu group started landing blows on him. Fearing for his life, Pathan fled the scene while the assault was recorded and circulated on social media platforms.
In other such violent incident, another Muslim youth, Syed Mudassir fell victim to similar brutality of Hindutva criminals near Kali Kaman on Bismat Road. The Hindu extremists forced him to chanting “Jai Shri Ram,” overturning his cart and stealing his belongings. Mudassir, the victim, reported the incident to Naya Mondha Police Station, leading to the registration of a case against the perpetrators.
