IIOJK court orders release of youth detained under black law PSA
Srinagar: The High Court of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has ordered the release of a 27-year-old Kashmiri youth currently detained at Braily Jail in Uttar Pradesh, India, under the black law, Public Safety Act.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the detainee Umar Aijaz Mir, against whom police had filed six fake FIRs in 2016, was arrested in 2022.
Advocate Bashir Ahmed Tak, the counsel for the victim, argued that the cases registered against him were frivolous.
After hearing the arguments, Judge Rahul Bharti declared the detention order of the District Magistrate Bandipora illegal and directed the release of Umar Aijaz from detention.
