Srinagar: Srinagar, the capital of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, has been designated a Red Zone for drone and quadcopter operations on the eve of Narendra Modi’s visit .
According to Kashmir Media Service, the decision, implemented under Rule 24(2) of Drone Rules, 2021, has been immediately enforced by the Indian police.
“All unauthorized drone operations within the Red Zone will face penalties in accordance with the relevant provisions of Drone Rules, 2021. We request the cooperation of all responsible citizens in this matter,” stated the police in a released statement.
The move appears contradictory to Modi’s peace mantra, which he has been advocating since the revocation of Article 370 in the territory.
