Kashmiri people have no expectations from Modi’s visit: PDP
Srinagar: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) made it clear on Tuesday that the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir hold no expectations from Narendra Modi’s visit, tomorrow.
According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking at a press conference at the party’s Srinagar office, PDP Spokesperson Suhail Bukhari emphasized that the BJP-led Indian government has mistreated the people of the Valley, leading to their disillusionment with Modi’s impending visit.
Bukhari highlighted the brazen arrogance displayed by New Delhi, stressing that it failed to address the concerns of the people adequately.
“The BJP government has consistently disregarded the sentiments of the people and has failed to heed their grievances. Consequently, the people harbor no expectations from the Indian Prime Minister’s visit to Srinagar. They are aware that BJP acts unilaterally, even if it contradicts the desires and hopes of the people,” remarked the spokesperson.
Expressing the public’s frustration with the government’s treatment since 2014, Bukhari noted a stark difference in the reception of Modi’s visit compared to previous visits by leaders like Vajpayee and Manmohan Singh. He highlighted that the current sentiment among the people is one of disinterest and skepticism, with little anticipation for any positive outcomes from the visit.
