Modi govt bans Nayeem Khan led National Front in IIOJK
Srinagar: As part of its attempts to subdue the voice of people in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP-led Indian government has now banned the Jammu Kashmir National Front led by incarcerated senior APHC leader Nayeem Ahmad Khan.
According to Kashmir Media Service, “The Modi government today declared Jammu and Kashmir National Front as an Unlawful Association,” Indian Home Minister Amit Shah wrote on ‘X’.
The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs banned the JKNF, a constituent of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, under the black law Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for five years with immediate effect.
The Indian government said the JKNF had been indulging in pro-freedom activities, which the Indian home ministry claimed were prejudicial to the integrity, sovereignty, and security of India.
Notably, the Modi government has already banned Jamaat-e-Islami, Muslim League, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Democratic Freedom Party, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Dukhtaran-e-Millat and Muslim Conference for their important role in the ongoing freedom movement in IIOJK.
