UN presence underscores llegitimacy of Kashmir dispute: Dr Mushtaq
Islamabad: Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed, the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir, has emphasized that the United Nations’ presence in Jammu and Kashmir serves as a poignant reminder of the legitimacy of the Kashmir dispute.
According to the Kashmir Media Service, Dr. Mushtaq made these remarks during a dinner held in honor of journalists from Azad Jammu and Kashmir and occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed that the international community must remain vigilant against any attempts to undermine the Kashmir issue through conspiracies.
The JI Amir reaffirmed the unwavering determination of the people of occupied Kashmir to persevere in their struggle for freedom, despite the oppressive tactics employed by the Indian government.
Furthermore, he condemned the recent transfer of 2.1 acres of land in Budgam district of occupied Jammu and Kashmir to the government of Maharashtra, denouncing it as part of a deliberate agenda to alter the Muslim-majority character of the region.
Dr. Mushtaq announced that Jamaat-e-Islami will organize an international Kashmir conference on July 13 to spotlight the urgency of the issue. He urged the international community to fulfill its role in facilitating a resolution to the Kashmir conflict.
Emphasizing the responsibility of the people of Azad Kashmir in the freedom struggle, Dr. Mushtaq underscored that the continued presence of the UN in Kashmir serves as a testament to the significance and legitimacy of the Kashmir issue.
