Indian forces’ constable injured in attack by Naxal rebels
Vijayapura: A constable of the District Reserve Guards of the Indian Forces was injured in an attack by Naxal rebels in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the activities of Maoist rebels have intensified in the state before the Lok Sabha elections, the lower house of the Indian Parliament.
The DRG constable, Deepak Durgam, was shot and seriously injured by the rebels in Atal Awas Colony, a residential area of policemen and his family, adjacent to the forest of Gurna Mankili area of Bijapur.
The rebels opened fire on the constable outside the house. He was seriously injured and is undergoing treatment at the district hospital and his condition is said to be out of danger.
