CAA is an anti-people political tool: Socialist Party India
New Delhi: The Socialist Party India (SPI) has condemned the Citizenship Amendment Act project as an anti-people political tool that undermines the rights and citizenship of Indian citizens mostly the Muslim community in the country.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Socialist Party (India) in a statement issued in New Delhi highlighted the persisting concerns regarding destabilisation of the Northeast region and the discriminatory impact on Muslim citizens, urging all Indians to unite in protest against the CAA.
“The CAA remains a pernicious piece of legislation, and we continue to strongly oppose it”, stated the Socialist Party (India) in its latest declaration.
The SPI reaffirmed its staunch opposition to the CAA, asserting that the controversial legislation remains deeply flawed and unconstitutional.
“Every citizen of India will be presumed to be non-citizen and impacted, but Muslim citizens more so,” the statement highlighted.
Critically analysing the new CAA rules, the Socialist Party (India) expressed grave concerns over their potential ramifications, particularly in exacerbating ethnic divisions in Assam and other Northeastern distrubed states.
Stating that the CAA was detrimental to the fabric of Indian society, the Socialist Party (India) urged unified stance against the controversial law. It called upon all Indians, especially social media influencers, to join hands in protesting against the CAA.
