Opening of lands, jobs to outsiders post Aug 2019 came as a rude awakening for IIOJK people: Bhalla
Jammu: Leader of Indian National Congress chapter in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Raman Bhalla has said that the decision of the BJP led Indian government to scrap the region’s special status had been full of shock and offence for the people of the territory who felt betrayed and downgraded post August 2019.
According to Kashmir Media Service, addressing series of public meetings in different areas of Samba, the IIOJK Congress chapter working president Raman Bhalla lambasted the BJP for having done the greatest disservice to IIOJK by demoting it to the level of Union Territory.
He further said that not only had the BJP regime dismantled the J&K state and demoted it as Union Territory, but it had deprived its people of certain special privileges meant for their welfare especially those pertaining to land and jobs. After August 5, 2019, opening of lands and jobs to outsiders came as a rude awakening for the people of J&K, he said.
Bhalla said that the BJP betrayed the sentiments of people of Jammu and Kashmir over a host of issues, adding it has persistently belied the aspirations of region’s people ever since its ascendance to power. He maintained, “Our development had been relegated to the background with entire focus on baseless issues even after reorganization of J&K. The daily rated workers of different Departments remain without wages for months together with none to listen to their tale of woes”.
