Guwahati: An Indian army’s Assam Rifles soldier committed suicide in violence hit Manipur state.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a tragic incident, the Assam Rifles army man identified as Gopal Biswakarma (48) committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle while on duty in Churachandpur area of the state.

A statement issued by Indian Defence spokesman said that Biswakarma was found lying in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound during the early hours, while on duty in Manipur’s Churachandpur.
