Indian forces kill nine including 3 women in Chhattisgarh
Raipur: Indian forces killed nine persons including three women in the violence-hit Chhattisgarh state.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Special Task Force (STF) and District Reserve Guard (DRG) killed the persons during a cordon and search operation in a forest of Tekmeta on the border of Narayanpur and Kanker districts in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday.
Indian police dubbed the victims as Naxalites. A police official said the Special Task Force (STF) and District Reserve Guard (DRG) killed nine Naxalites, including three women, during an anti-Naxal operation, adding that no harm was reported to security personnel in the incident.
As many as 88 people, whom the Indian police deem as Naxalites, have been killed most of them in fake encounters so far this year during operations by Indian forces’ personnel in the Bastar region. In one of the largest operations by Indian forces in Chhattisgarh, as many as 29 ‘Naxalites’ were killed and their bodies were recovered on April 16.
Meanwhile, a Congress leader and former Janpad Panchayat member, Joga Podiyam, aged 44, was killed with his throat slit in his house at Potali, Dantewada district, situated in the tribal Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. The assailants disconnected the electricity supply, dragged him out, and slit his throat.
