IIOJK authorities again disallow Mirwaiz to offer Juma prayers
Islamabad: The authorities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir again disallowed senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to offer Juma prayers.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Anjuman Auqaf of Jamia Masjid, Srinagar, in a statement said that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was again not allowed to offer Friday prayers and deliver the sermon at central Jama Masjid in Srinagar.
It said this is the second consecutive Friday when he has not been allowed to come to Jamia masjid. Infact Mirwaiz’s movement has been completely curbed since last Friday while journalists or media persons are barred from meeting him.
Anjuman said this repeated detention of the religious head and especially keeping him away from Jamia Masjid on Fridays is very disturbing and upsets the people deeply, but in the present times has to be borne with patience.
It hoped that the hearing of Mirwaiz’s case for complete release from house arrest on May 25 in the high court will provide the relief that people are eagerly awaiting.
