Demanding rights, PHE workers continue protest against IIOJK authorities
Jammu: The ongoing protest-sit in of workers and daily wagers of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir in support of their demands has entered 708th day, today.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the protest-sin is taking place outside the office of Chief Engineer PHE Department at BC Road office complex in Jammu.
These hapless workers of the PHE Department are on strike since June 22, 2022, demanding regularization & enhancement of minimum wages as per Indian government norms in IIOJK and release of over 78 months’ wages of the daily wagers.
Despite several rounds of talks with higher authorities in the Department, their issues have not been resolved yet.
A large number of PHE workers from various Divisions and Sub- Divisions in Jammu, assembled outside the office of Chief Engineer PHE Jammu, under the banner of PHE United Front. They were shouting slogans in support of their demands and also against IIOJK administration, BJP and other higher authorities in the territory.
The employees’ representatives said that they will continue their agitation till justice is accorded to the PHE workers.
