Indian police vehicle crushes elderly man to death in Srinagar
Srinagar: An elderly man was crushed to death by an Indian police vehicle in Srinagar district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the victim identified as Abdul Salam, 65, was fatally struck by the Indian police vehicle when he was crossing the road in Hawal area of the district.
Indian officials while confirming the incident said a case has been registered against the driver and investigation has been taken up.
However, it is to be noted that such statements by the officials in IIOJK are issued for public consumption only as it rarely happens that the investigation has led to accountability and punishment for the responsible party.
