People rejected Modi’s hate politics, says Dalit leader who defeated BJP in Ayodhya

Ayodhya: Udhesh Prasad, a 79-year-old Dalit leader, has made headlines by defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lok Sabha seat in Ayodhya, a holy city in India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a media interview, Udhish Prasad said, “It wasn’t Lalu Singh who contested against me, but Modi himself. Adityanath held several programs in the constituency, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi even held a road show, but the saffron party still failed to succeed.”

Udhish Prasad attributed his victory to the people’s frustration with issues like inflation, unemployment, and poverty. “People in every village are suffering, but no one is listening to them,” he said. “This wasn’t my victory, but the victory of the great people of Ayodhya. If Prime Minister Narendra Modi had contested against me, he would have lost, as the people had decided to defeat the politics of hate.”

Udhish Prasad, who has fought 11 elections in his life, said that this was the first time the people had fought for him instead of the other way around. He credited the people of Ayodhya for his victory, saying it was a triumph over the politics of arrogance.
