Mirwaiz greets Muslim World on Eid-ul-Adha
Srinagar: All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has extended heartfelt greetings to the Muslim World on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar said that as far as celebrating Eid-ul-Adha in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir is concerned, this year’s Eid is being celebrated at a time when the people here are going through extremely difficult circumstances, and the solution lies solely in sincerely following the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah.
Recalling the unparalleled sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son Prophet Ismail (AS), Mirwaiz described it as an unforgettable event and said the spirit of sacrifice and devotion will continue to inspire humanity until the Day of Judgment. He stressed that as an Islamic community there is a dire need to promote the spirit of sacrifice and altruism at every stage.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq urged the people to celebrate Eid-ul-Adha with simplicity, in accordance with Islamic traditions and teachings, and to reach out to the poor, underprivileged and needy in society to provide them with all possible support and thereby seek the pleasure and satisfaction of Allah Almighty.
