Indian troops kill four including woman in violence-hit Jharkhand
Ranchi: Indian forces’ personnel killed at least four persons including a woman in violence-hit Jharkhand state.
According to Kashmir Media Services, the killings occurred during a cordon and search operation launched by the troops in Tonto and Goilkera areas of Singhbhum district, today.
Jharkhand Police spokesperson and IG (Operations), Amol V Homkar, talking to media men while dubbing the victims as Maoists said that two have also been arrested during the operation.
The IG claimed that the deceased were suspected members of Maoists, with roles ranging from zonal commander to cadre.
Earlier, Indian troops killed eight people, whom the officials described as Naxalites, in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh state.
The Maoists and Naxalites are mostly from lower class community including Dalits who are victims of injustice and discrimination and demanding independence from Indian hegemony and Brahminic domination.
