Indian illegal occupation renders 107,963 children orphaned in IIOJK
Srinagar: As Father’s Day was observed globally, thousands of fathers in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have lost their sons at the hands of brutal Indian troops.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Father’s Day was observed worldwide on the third Sunday in June to recognize the contribution that fathers and fatherly figures make to the lives of their children. This day celebrates fatherhood and male parenting.
Data released by the KMS reveals that 107,963 children lost their fathers due to the unending Indian state terrorism over the past 36 years. The Indian brutalities also resulted in 22,976 women becoming widows. Additionally, hundreds of youth have suffered eye injuries due to pellet firing by Indian troops and paramilitary forces on peaceful protesters since 2010.
Hundreds of fathers, among those, APHC Chairman, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi, Naheeda Nasreen, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Mohammad Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Meraajudin Kalwal, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Shahid-ul-Islam, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Bilal Siddiqi, Ameer Hamza, Ghulam Qadir Butt, Dr Hamid Fayaz, Noor Muhammd Fayaz, Muhammad Yousuf Falahi, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, Syed Shahid Yousuf, Syed Shakeel Yousuf, Muhammad Rafiq Ganai, Hayat Ahmed Butt, Advocate Zahid Ali, Fayaz Hussain Jafari, Zaffar Akbar Butt, Umar Adil Dar, Abdul Ahad Parra, Firdous Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Yasin Butt, Zahoor Ahmed Butt, Saleem Nanaji, Sarjan Barkati, human rights defenders including Khurrum Parvez and ulema have been languishing in different jails of India and the territory. These detainees are the worst victims of political vendetta by the Modi regime.
Thousands of Kashmiris, mostly young boys and women, are facing psychological trauma due to illegal detentions of their parents, prevailing atmosphere of fear in the occupied territory, unabated cordon and search operations and the fear of losing their fathers and husbands to Indian state terrorism.
