Kashmiri man arrested in Bangalore over alleged anti-India social media posts
Bangalore: An employee from Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, working in Bangalore, has been arrested for allegedly posting anti-India comments on social media.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Faheem Firdous Qureshi (30) was arrested following a complaint lodged by the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), where Qureshi worked.
The complaint included attachments of Qureshi’s so-called objectionable posts on X (formerly Twitter).
Qureshi, who had been in Bangalore for 11 months, is currently in police custody pending further investigation.
The incident has sparked concerns about freedom of expression and the legal consequences of expressing dissenting opinions, particularly for individuals from Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
