Bomb threat on London-bound Air India flight, suspect arrested
New Delhi: A London-bound Air India flight received a bomb threat at Cochin International Airport on Tuesday, but no explosives were found after extensive security checks.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a 29-year-old man, identified as Suhaib, who was scheduled to travel on the flight, was apprehended by authorities for making the threatening call.
The flight, AI 149, was cleared for departure after thorough security measures were undertaken. The suspect, a native of Malappuram district, was handed over to the police for further questioning and legal action.
Experts fear that the Hindutva government, facing declining popular support, may orchestrate such activities to defame Muslims in India and create a pretext for launching an operation against them, exacerbating communal tensions and perpetuating Islamophobia.
