Media blackout for Er Rashid as he takes oath as MP on July 5
Srinagar: Independent MP from Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Engineer Rashid, to take his oath as Member of Parliament on July 5, subject to certain conditions, including not interacting with the media.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Patiala House Court is set to pass an order on July 2 regarding Rashid’s request for interim bail or custody parole to facilitate his appearance in Parliament for the oath-taking ceremony.
Rashid, who was arrested in 2019 on charges of being involved in pro-freedom activities in occupied Kashmir won the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 from IIOJK’s Baramulla Constituency on June 4, securing 454,950 votes against Omar Abdullah.
