Burhan Wani honoured with calls for continued struggle at Muzaffarabad event

Muzaffarabad: The Shuhada Foundation of Jammu and Kashmir solemnly observed the 8th martyrdom anniversary of popular youth leader Burhan Muzaffar Wani and his associates with a dignified ceremony in Muzaffarabad, the capital city of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, led by Saifullah Khalid, the event witnessed a significant gathering where attendees paid heartfelt tributes to the martyrs, highlighting their pivotal role in Kashmir’s freedom struggle.

Speakers at the ceremony lauded Burhan Wani for his unwavering commitment to the Kashmiris’ noble cause and emphasized the profound impact of his martyrdom in galvanizing Kashmiri youth against Indian subjugation. They criticized India’s stubbornness and its militaristic policies, asserting that these have reinforced the necessity of armed resistance over diplomatic negotiations in resolving the decades-long Kashmir dispute.

They called upon Pakistan, as a key stakeholder, to steadfastly support the Kashmiri mujahideen. They asserted that Burhan Wani’s path remains the path to freedom, resonating deeply with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

The speakers also condemned India’s oppressive tactics and highlighted recent incidents, including the martyrdom of six youth in Kulgam, as stark reminders of Kashmiris’ unwavering resolve and determination. The speakers vowed to protect these sacrifices and intensify efforts to achieve the martyrs’ mission of liberating Kashmir from Indian occupation. They emphasized that the Kashmiri people stand united in their struggle against Indian occupation and stressed the urgent need for unwavering support to them.

The ceremony concluded with a solemn funeral prayer in absentia for the recently martyred youth in Kulgam. Prominent leaders addressing the gathering included Amir Jamaat-e-Islami AJK Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Khan, Deputy Amir JeI AJK Advocate Sheikh Aqeel ur Rehman, APHC-AJK leader Zahid Safi, leader of Pasban-e-Hurriyat head Uzair Gazali, People’s Party AJK leader Shaukat Javaid Mir, Shamshir Khan, Mushtaq-ul-Islam and Aamir Jameel.
