Kashmiri diaspora decides to organize peaceful protests in US on Aug 5
Washington: A meeting of the US-based Kashmiri diaspora was held here to discuss organizing a peaceful protests in the United States on August 5, 2024, marking the anniversary of the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A by the Indian government in 2019.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the decision was widely condemned by the global Kashmiri diaspora and the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres.
The protest aims to counter India’s propaganda machinery, which claims that everything is normal in occupied Kashmir, and to rally support for the Kashmiri freedom movement. Despite India’s belligerent attitude and malicious propaganda, the movement will continue to fight for freedom with determination and strategy.
The meeting was attended by prominent Kashmiri leaders, including Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, Sardar Zarif Khan, Raja Liaqat Kayani, and others. Dr. Muhammad, who also attended the meeting, provided an update on Sardar Zarif Khan’s health, who has been recovering from thoracic spine surgery.
The protest is scheduled to take place on August 5, 2024, in Washington, D.C.
The Kashmiri American community is urged to participate and support the cause. Sardar Zarif Khan’s health is also requested to be kept in prayers for his full recovery.
