Global community raised concerns over India’s human rights abuses in IIOJK: FO

Islamabad: Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch has said that the international community has expressed concerns over India’s human rights abuses in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, with important questions raised about arrests under draconian laws and frequent suspension of mobile internet services.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch addressing her weekly press briefing in Islamabad said, the Human Rights Committee in Geneva recently raised these concerns during its periodic report on India.

The concerns highlighted by the international human rights machinery demonstrate the dismal human rights situation in IIOJK, Baloch said. She called on the international community to take note of these human rights abuses by India in IIOJK and to bring an end to the suppression of the Kashmiri people.

“This demonstrates continuing concerns of the international human rights machinery about the dismal human rights situation in IIOJK. We call on the international community to take note of these human rights abuses by India in IIOJK and to bring an end to the suppression of the Kashmiri people,” she said and reiterated Pakistan’s continued political, diplomatic and moral support to Kashmiri people.
