Islamabad: Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir Dr Muhammad Mushtaq Khan has said that the right to self-determination is the fundamental and absolute right of the Kashmiri people, which has been recognized by the just and democratic circles of the world.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Muhammad Mushtaq Khan talking to Kashmiri journalists in Islamabad said that India itself had taken the Kashmir dispute to the United Nations and had promised to give the right of self-determination to the Kashmiri people, but despite the passage of 77 years, the Kashmiri people are continuing to struggle and making sacrifices for achieving the right to self-determination.

He said India has been working with deceit and trickery since the first day. He said that the base camp had also not played the role it should have done while the United Nations also failed to implement its resolutions.

Dr Mushtaq said that on August 5, 2019 India attacked the constitutional status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir and abrogated two important articles 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution.. The worst military siege in history was imposed on the people of Kashmir, but the positive aspect is that the Kashmiri people refused to surrender to India, he added.
