Hindutva group calls for boycott of halal products in India

Hyderabad:  The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), a Hindutva group, has launched a campaign calling for a boycott of halal products in India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, posters have been put up at various temples in Hyderabad city, urging Hindus to say no to halal products. The posters, installed by Rakshit Sagar Rachakonda, a leader of the BJYM and member of the RSS, read, “Dear Hindus, Say No to Halal Products.”
Rachakonda took to social media to announce the campaign, appealing to Hindus to boycott halal products, especially during festivals. The posters are under the banner of Shri Kesri Hanuman Yuva Sangathan.
This move is part of a larger trend of targeting halal products by the BJP and its affiliates. In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP-led government banned certification of halal products and took action against organizations providing halal certificates, leading to the arrest of some Muslim leaders.
Hindutva groups have been intermittently targeting halal products in various states, and now seem to be focusing on Telangana. The campaign has raised concerns about communal tensions and discrimination against Muslims.
