Family protests against BJP’s hand in killing of SPO in Poonch
Jammu: The family of Mohammad Asif, a Special Police Officer (SPO) and personal bodyguard of a Bharatiya Janata Party leader staged a protest in Poonch district, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, demanding justice and rejecting the police claim of accidental death.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Asif’s body was found with a bullet injury near Malik’s house in Surankote area of the district a few days ago.
The family and relatives suspected the hand of BJP leader and said that Asif was murdered and demanded a fair probe into the matter. They raised slogans and met with police officers, seeking justice. The protesters claimed that the circumstances surrounding Asif’s death pointed towards foul play, rather than an accident.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage in the community, with many calling for justice and transparency in what they believe could be a case of clear murder. The police have been urged to conduct a thorough investigation and take swift action against those responsible.
