Jailed Shabbir Shah’s father-in-law passes away in Srinagar

Srinagar: Muhammad Iqbal Rather, father-in-law of illegally detained senior APHC leader and Chairman of Democratic Freedom Party, Shabbir Ahmad Shah passed away in a hospital in Srinagar, occupied Jammu and Kashmir after prolonged illness, today.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Shabbir Ahmed Shah is currently detained in the notorious Tihar jail in New Delhi and was not allowed to attend the funeral prayers of his father-in-law. The funeral prayers of the deceased were offered in Doda in which a large number of people participated.

Meanwhile, the DFP spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed profound grief and sorrow over the death of the father-in-law of the detained party chairman.

He said India has proved that it is not a democratic country because even on this important occasion, Shabbir Ahmed. Shah was not allowed to attend the funeral prayers of his father-in-law.

Party’s vice chairman Mahmood Ahmad Saghar in his condolence message expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Shabbir Shah’s father-in-law and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
