Syed Ali Gilani remembered on eve of his third martyrdom anniversary
Pallandri AJK: The youth conference “Syed Ali Gilani: Legacy, leadership & resistance” was organized today at Khan Muhammad Khan Post Graduate College for Boys, Pallandri, under the auspices of the Institute of Multi-Track Dialogue, Diplomacy, and Development Studies.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the event, attended by approximately 250-300 youth, began with a recitation from the Holy Quran followed by the national anthem. The conference aimed to reflect on the life and legacy of Syed Ali Gilani, his relentless struggle for justice, and his efforts to foster unity among the people.
Several distinguished speakers addressed the conference, each highlighting different facets of Syed Ali Gilani’s life and contributions.
Nimra Maqsood (Research Scholar) discussed Gilani’s unwavering commitment to the cause of Kashmir, his significant role in leading the resistance movement, and his vision for unity, bringing together diverse groups for a common goal.
Professor Masood provided a historical overview of Gilani’s involvement in Kashmir’s political landscape, his contributions to education and intellectual development as tools for resistance, and his unique leadership style that combined firmness with compassion.
Arshad Nadeem (Social Activist) focused on Syed Ali Gilani’s grassroots mobilization efforts, his advocacy for human rights and justice, which resonated globally, and the impact of his ideology on youth, encouraging them to engage in social and political activism.
Professor Nouman Siddiqui delved into the philosophical underpinnings of Gilani’s resistance, his contributions to political thought, and his message of perseverance in the face of adversity.
Justice Hameed discussed the legal struggles faced by Gilani, his efforts to strengthen local institutions against external pressures, and his enduring legacy in law and justice, advocating for fair treatment and legal equity.
The conference provided a platform for the youth to gain a deeper understanding of Syed Ali Gilani’s extraordinary life and his influence on Kashmir’s struggle for self-determination and unity.
